Up for sale is a classic Remington Model No. 6, the little single-shot takedown rifle that taught a couple of generations how to shoot. Chambered in .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle, it's the kind of honest, simple .22 that's as fun on the back fence today as it was a century ago.

Action: Single-shot, takedown rolling/falling block — loosen the knurled thumbscrew and the barrel separates from the stock for easy storage and transport
Barrel: Round, factory configuration
Markings: "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y. U.S.A." barrel address, the "PATENTED JULY 22, 1902" stamp, and an "S"-prefix serial number (S72284) — all signature features of the No. 6
Production: Made roughly 1901–1933; the plain "Remington Arms Co." address (no UMC marking) points toward an earlier example
Condition: Solid, honest Good condition. The metal wears an even, attractive patina with some scattered surface spotting on the receiver flat — exactly what you'd expect and want from a rifle of this age that's been used and not messed with. No refinish, no fakery, all original. A genuine piece of early-1900s Americana.
Why you'll like it: These are getting harder to find in unmolested original shape. It's a great first collectible, a fun low-cost shooter, or a handsome wall piece with real history behind it.
