Complete G17 compatible 9mm pistol Hybrid consisting of the Rock Island STK100 upper coupled with the SCT G17 Lower. Two 17 round UTG magazines are included with a very nice Apache 1800 hard case. Complete with everything as shown in pictures. This is an FFL item and background NICS must be performed with 4473 if purchased locally at my shop. I can ship to an FFL holder of your choice for transfer ($30.00 USPS additional).
Enhancements: Extended mag release and extended slide release were added.
The Pros & Cons:
An affordable 9mm G17 hybrid that is mostly Glock Gen 3 compatible with the exception of the rear sight on the STK100 upper is integral with the red dot cover plate. Also, the SCT lower slide release retainer spring is a coil rather than a leaf spring. The finger grooves are not present on the SCT lower as on the G17-3, an improvement in my opinion.
The fit between the STK100 Upper and the SCT lower is very tight. Good or bad, I prefer the tighter fit for increased accuracy of the pistol.
The recoil seems to be slightly less than my Glock 17 with the same ammo. My guess as to the reason for this may be that the trigger guard on the SCT lower is cut higher allowing the grip to be closer to the bore axis and thus, less muzzle rise.
The empty weight with a magazine is 24.1 ounces (basically 1.5 lbs). Very close to the Glock 17 Gen 3 at 24.9 ounces.
I really like the aggressive grip features on both the STK100 upper and on the SCT lower. The serrations cut on the trigger guard of the SCT are a plus as well as the full picatinny rail on the front of the frame.
Warranty is provided by the two manufacturers Rock Island Armory and SCT Manufacturing respectively.
The history of the G17 gen 3 has been top notch as a proven and reliable product.
