This is a very nice fixed blade knife in the classic bird and trout pattern style.
Custom made by Marvin D Poole, a very well respected knife maker from Georgia, USA. He began making knives in late 1970's into the early 2000's. He was a familiar figure at gun and knife shows in northeast Georgia.
Marvin passed away in 2018. I knew Marvin personally, he made a lot of knives for me and taught me how to make knives.
His work is impeccable.
The bird and trout model is hollow ground, which means its easy to put a keen edge on it. It is mirror polished and has genuine Indian sambar stag handle scales.
Finger jimping on top of the blade for increased grip control. It has a lanyard hole for a thong. It comes with a very nice professionally-made leather sheath.
It is excellent for light duty cutting chores, and, as the name implies it is good for cleaning fish, birds, and probably up to deer-size animals.
Shaving sharp edge. Ready to use.
